How it feels

The season's most polarizing spec. Fans adore the Void fantasy and "clunky, satisfying" Collapsing Star payoff. Detractors hate the 10x Consume builder ramp. Sits squarely in B-Tier as sources disagreed.

Peak moment

Reaching max stacks, entering Void Metamorphosis, and dropping a massive Collapsing Star that obliterates targets.

The clunk

The ramp can feel sluggish: spamming Consume 10 times before reaching the fun burst window.

What players say

Community tier B. Polarizing: confidence is high that opinion is split, not that it is middling.

Why people love it: Void Ray chains, casting while moving and the Red-Mage-style fantasy.

Why people quit it: Slow ramp, a one-button feel while questing, squishiness and Collapsing Star cancels. Blizzard's 12.1.5 notes call cancelled casts 'a noted pain point since Devourer's introduction' and remove the 5-second lockout after a cancel.

Popularity: About 2.1% of Mythic+ (Mythistone).
